Klamath County community organizations encouraged to apply for state alcohol fund allocations

Klamath County, Oregon – The Klamath County Local Alcohol and Drug Planning Committee (LADPC) is now taking applications for grants for initiatives that will help stop and deal with drug and alcohol misuse in the community. There is money available for a variety of projects, from programs that help people recover and treatment to programs that help people get well and stay healthy. The amount of help depends on the size and demands of the request.

Local organizations, agencies, and community partners are encouraged to apply. The Klamath County website has all the information you need regarding who can apply, how much money is available, and how to submit your application. The LADPC board will look over the applications. This board looks at requests and gives funding suggestions to the Board of County Commissioners on how to use State Alcohol funds.

The main goal of the LADPC is to make sure that everyone in Klamath County can get high-quality, evidence-based treatment and preventative services. The group works closely with a wide range of community partners, such as healthcare providers, nonprofits, tribal officials, and governmental agencies. The LADPC works with various groups to come up with solutions that are sensitive to different cultures and driven by the community. various solutions assist people and families who have substance use problems become productive, healthy members of society again.

The 13-member LADPC board is very important in deciding how to deal with drug misuse and how to spend money in the county. Each member’s tenure lasts three years, and they must attend at least 75% of the committee’s one-hour meetings every month. These meetings happen on the fourth Tuesday of every odd month and provide people a chance to become involved and work together. The gathering is on Vandenberg Road in Klamath Falls, and lunch will be served. Residents are welcome to join.

The LADPC continues to attempt to develop its relationships with its partners, which include Above All Influences, BestCare, Klamath Basin Behavioral Health, Sky Lakes Medical Center, the Oregon Health Authority, and many others. They all work together to offer full assistance for prevention, treatment, and recovery throughout the area.
