Klamath Falls, Oregon – Veterans in the Klamath Falls area will have a direct opportunity next month to bring questions and concerns before the group that advises Oregon’s top veterans agency.
The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs will hold its third quarterly Advisory Committee meeting of 2026 on Wednesday, Sept. 9, combining a formal morning business session with a public town hall later that day.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the College Union Crater Lake Complex at the Oregon Institute of Technology, 3201 Campus Drive in Klamath Falls. People may attend either in person or virtually. A town hall, open to the public, is scheduled to follow at 11:30 a.m.

The nine-member Advisory Committee has served as a link between Oregon veterans and ODVA leadership since 1945. Its members are military veterans from different parts of the state who are appointed by the governor. Their role includes advising ODVA’s director and staff while advocating for issues and concerns affecting veterans throughout Oregon.
Public participation becomes a central part of each quarterly gathering once the committee’s regular business is finished. During the town hall, community members can raise broader veterans issues, ask questions or provide information directly to committee members and the agency director.
Those attending remotely must register online for the business meeting or town hall portion.
While attendees may observe the business session, public participation will be permitted during the town hall only. Participants will be invited to turn on their cameras and unmute their microphones. The meeting will be recorded and posted online at a later date.

The Advisory Committee follows a regular quarterly schedule, meeting on the first Wednesday of March, June, September and December. Additional information, including meeting materials, is available through the ODVA Advisory Committee webpage.
ODVA, also established in 1945, serves Oregon veterans spanning five eras of military service. The agency administers programs, advocates for veterans and helps connect them with earned benefits and assistance.
