Daily lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Shasta Way to create safe work zone for significant commercial development

Klamath Falls, Oregon – Starting on Monday, March 31, major traffic adjustments will take place on Shasta Way, particularly at the intersection of Avalon Street. This change is scheduled to last from March 31st through April 4th, as part of the construction efforts for a new WinCo Foods grocery store. During this period, Shasta Way will be reduced to two lanes to create a safe work zone for the ongoing construction.

The usual center turn lane at the Avalon Street intersection will serve dual purposes, allowing for both straight and turning movements. This arrangement will close off one of the travel lanes, significantly altering normal traffic patterns. The construction activities and lane adjustments will be active from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, contingent on favorable weather conditions. The primary aim is to ensure the safety of both the construction workers and the public during these operations.

Local authorities and project managers are urging motorists to consider alternative routes around the intersection to help reduce traffic buildup and minimize delays. This adjustment is crucial for facilitating the safe and efficient progress of the construction project, which is a significant development for the area.
