Klamath Falls, Oregon – A long detour is over for drivers in Klamath County. As of September 30, traffic is once again moving across the East Langell Valley Road Bridge between Jones Road and Bunn Way.
The reopening restores regular travel through the area after construction forced residents and commuters to change their normal routes. Some work remains, but Klamath County Public Works says it will be limited to intermittent cleanup and will not keep the bridge closed to everyday traffic.
The Klamath County Public Works Department announced the reopening while thanking people who dealt with the disruption throughout the project. Officials acknowledged that closures and detours created inconvenience, particularly for those who regularly depend on East Langell Valley Road.
“We sincerely thank our residents and commuters for their exceptional patience, flexibility, and support throughout construction,” the department said.
“We recognize the inconvenience caused by closures and detours, and we deeply appreciate everyone who adjusted their routines to help make this important project possible.”
With the construction phase largely complete, the county is pointing to the bridge’s expected lifespan as one of the project’s most important benefits. Public Works said the new structure was built as a long-term investment and is expected to provide safe and reliable access for approximately 80 to 100 years.
That projected service life means the work was designed to address transportation needs far beyond the immediate reopening. For residents who spent the construction period navigating alternate routes, however, the most noticeable change is much simpler: the direct connection between Jones Road and Bunn Way is available again.
Crews may still be seen in the area as remaining cleanup work is completed. Drivers can nevertheless use the route for regular travel while those final tasks continue.
