Klamath County, Oregon – Klamath County drivers will encounter a busy mix of paving, chip sealing, utility work and traffic restrictions this week, with several projects running at the same time across the county.
The biggest disruption is on East Langell Valley Road, where a month-long closure is now underway. At the same time, crews are moving through several local streets, creating temporary lane closures and delays that could reach 20 minutes.
East Langell Valley Road is closed between Jones Road and Bunn Way from Monday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Sept. 11. The closure includes the intersection with Bunn Way, where traffic is no longer permitted while drainage improvements are completed. Drivers must follow the designated detour route.
Another restriction remains in place on Campbell Road west of Ivory Pine Road. Traffic there is limited to one lane while crossing County Bridge 1210-4 over the North Fork Sprague River.
Chip seal crews are scheduled to work from Aug. 10 through Aug. 13 on Villa Drive, Lockford Drive, Sylvia Avenue, Bisbee Street, Austin Street, Altamont Drive and Washburn Way.
Those same roads will also see an early-morning broom crew beginning work at 4 a.m. from Aug. 11 through Aug. 14.

Paint striping and stencil work is planned from Aug. 10 through Aug. 13 on Shasta Way and other miscellaneous local roads.
Additional utility work and paving is scheduled Aug. 11 through Aug. 14 on Homedale Road between Delaware Avenue and Southside Bypass, as well as Shasta Way between Winona Way and Austin Street. Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures, active work zones and delays.
Utility crossings on Wesgo Drive will also produce lane closures and delays. On Sprague River Road, wildfire activity and emergency vehicle traffic remain another concern, and motorists are being asked to use caution and take alternate routes when possible.
Klamath County Public Works said flagging stations will generally be positioned at the ends of active work zones. Typical delays are expected to range from zero to 20 minutes.
Schedules can change because of weather, equipment problems or material and resource availability. Some projects may also be completed earlier than listed or moved to another date.
