Klamath Falls, Oregon – With the new season close at hand, Klamath Falls Little League is calling on families to roll up their sleeves and help get the fields ready for the months ahead.
The league’s annual Field Cleanup Day is set for Saturday, April 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., giving parents and players a chance to prepare the grounds before games and practices begin in full.
Because Klamath Falls Little League is run entirely by volunteers, league organizers say this kind of hands-on help is not just appreciated, but necessary.
Each year, teams are asked to take part in both fundraising efforts and field cleanup work. But with turnout falling short in the past, the message is more direct this time around.
League leaders are asking all parents and players to come out and contribute at least one hour to the effort, stressing that the season depends on a strong community presence long before the first pitch is thrown.
The goal is simple: make sure the fields are in top condition so children can play, practice, and enjoy the season in a safe and welcoming space. From general cleanup to basic maintenance, the work done now helps shape the experience players will have throughout the spring.
Rather than framing the day as just another chore, organizers are encouraging families to treat it as a shared event. Parents and players are invited to bring snacks, shovels, rakes, and even a little music to turn the cleanup into something more upbeat. The hope is that the work will feel less like an obligation and more like a community gathering built around the league and the children it serves.
League organizers also said families should watch for more information on where each team will be assigned to work.

For Klamath Falls Little League, the cleanup day is about more than dirt, tools, and preparation. It is a reminder of how much youth sports depend on the people behind the scenes. In a volunteer-run organization, the season only comes together when families show up, pitch in, and help build the kind of environment they want for their kids.
As the league looks ahead to another season, organizers say that support remains the foundation of everything. Simply put, the league does not run without its community.
