City of crews plan asphalt grinding, striping and sweeping across Klamath Falls streets for the week of June 8

Klamath Falls, Oregon – Crews in Klamath Falls are preparing for a busy week on city streets, with asphalt work, striping, sign repairs and sweeping scheduled across several areas from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, 2026.

The City of Klamath Falls Public Works Streets Division announced the planned work in a press release, noting that all listed projects are weather permitting. Drivers should expect short-term closures, one-lane traffic and crews working during early morning and daytime hours.

The first major impact is expected Monday, June 8, when the city’s asphalt crew begins grinding work on Commercial Street. That section of Commercial Street will be closed from 8th Street to 9th Street while the work is underway. The asphalt crew is scheduled to operate from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

On Tuesday, June 9, grinding will move to a section of Laguna Street and Hughes Street. Traffic in that area will be reduced to one lane while crews complete the work. Another one-lane traffic area is planned for Thursday, June 11, when crews grind a section of road at 11th Street and Upham Street.

Paint crews will also be active during the same week, working a different schedule. According to the city, the paint crew will operate from 3 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, again depending on weather conditions.

From Tuesday, June 9, through Friday, June 12, crews are scheduled to paint crosswalks and legends along 6th Street, from Bridge Street to Austin Street. Work is also planned on Washburn Way, from Laverne Avenue to 6th Street. In addition, crews will be painting curbs in the downtown area.

The city also said sign repairs and sweeping will take place citywide as needed from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12. Those crews are scheduled to work from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
