Klamath Falls police trade the station for a coffee shop as residents get two hours to ask anything

Klamath Falls, Oregon – For two hours next Wednesday morning, the conversation in downtown Klamath Falls will come with coffee, and no formal agenda.

The Klamath Falls Police Department is inviting residents to sit down with local officers at Gathering Grounds on Oct. 7 for Coffee With a Cop, an informal event built around questions, ideas and simple face-to-face conversation.

The gathering will run from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Gathering Grounds, 116 S. 11th St. Rather than a scheduled presentation or structured meeting, the event is designed to give community members an opportunity to speak directly with officers in a relaxed setting.

Residents can stop by for coffee, meet members of the department and talk about whatever is on their minds. People may ask questions about local policing, share ideas or concerns, or simply introduce themselves and have a conversation.

That open format is a central part of the event. The department describes Coffee With a Cop as a chance for residents to connect with the officers who serve the community without the formality that can come with other public meetings.

“No agenda-just good coffee and good conversation.”

The Oct. 7 event also gives residents a morning option for connecting with police. With doors open for a two-hour window beginning at 7:30 a.m., people can visit Gathering Grounds during the scheduled period rather than arriving for a single presentation time.

For the Klamath Falls Police Department, the focus is straightforward: creating another setting where officers and community members can meet, listen and talk directly.

Coffee With a Cop is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Gathering Grounds, located at 116 S. 11th St. in Klamath Falls.

Those attending do not need to arrive with a specific concern or question. The invitation is equally open to residents who want to share an idea, learn more about the people serving in the department or simply stop in, grab a cup of coffee and say hello.
