Community clean-ups and creative efforts set to brighten Klamath County on April 26

Klamath County, Oregon – Klamath County will hum with activity on April 26, 2025 as community members gather for Give Back Day, an event meant to enhance several nearby locations through a number of volunteer efforts. This program invites people of all ages to help strengthen their communities.

Several clean-up activities will start the day early. From 9:00 am to noon, volunteers under Teresa Ross’s direction will work on projects including weed whacking and raking at the KTA Bike Park at Moore Park, one of the main events. Participants are reminded to bring their work gloves and get ready for a morning of demanding clean-up to get the park ready for visitors in the next months.

At the Linkville Cemetery, meanwhile, a new sort of clean-up concentrating on the preservation and upkeep of the property will take place. Volunteers under Nic Phair will participate with weeding, headstone leveling, and trash removal. Generously, the Historical Society has scheduled lunch for 11:30 am for volunteers, so providing a time of relaxation and friendship.

Under Dave Hayes’ direction, families and people can assist preserve native flora by keeping the Wingwatchers Trail under 9:00 to 11:00 am. Volunteers should be wearing suitable attire and, if at all feasible, bringing their own weeding tools.

The Caring Cards Project provides a special chance for people with a creative touch to make handmade cards for first responders. Anne Mortenson will supervise this program from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Alpine Meadows Mobile Estates Clubhouse. As they produce messages of gratitude and support, volunteers are invited to bring crafting glue and a good attitude.

Some initiatives don’t include making or cleaning. Volunteers at the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center will assist in refurbishing the stage including stripping and re-carpeting; the precise time will be decided. Upcoming community events depend on this effort and calls for volunteers to arrive in work attire prepared to handle some significant lifting.

The day is not just about labor; it’s about community and making a tangible difference. From 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Robert Cowie-led volunteers in Chiloquin will repaint the public restrooms in Chiloquin City Park, covering graffiti and providing the facilities a much-needed facelift.

The Long-sleeve T-Shirt Drive at the KBBH Main Building will gather protective clothes for migrant farm laborers, therefore stressing the community’s spirit of caring and support across many sectors for individuals wishing to assist in another way.
