Klamath County, Oregon – Klamath County Public Works has announced a number of critical road and infrastructure improvements that will take place the week of June 23, 2025. Officials advise drivers to stay vigilant, follow flagger directives, and, if possible, steer away from work zones completely to keep everyone safe and cut down on traffic delays.
Chip seal maintenance is one of the most important things that will happen this week. It is a very important way to keep county roads in good shape for a long time. On June 25 and 26, chip sealing will happen along North Poe Valley Road. Broom teams will start work early in the morning. Before that, on June 24 and 25, personnel will be working on O’Connor Road and Township Road. Then, on June 26 and 27, they will work on North Poe Valley Road again.
Another big project will be the Homedale Bike Path, which is being constructed on by crews along Homedale Road, which runs from Southside Bypass (Highway 140) to Brett Way. The work will probably cause lane closures on Homedale Road South from time to time, so drivers in the area should be ready for delays.
There will be flagging stations to monitor traffic around work zones. Most delays should last up to 20 minutes, but county officials say that patience is appreciated. The goal is to do the necessary maintenance on the county’s infrastructure with as little disturbance as possible.
Drivers, please remember that it’s very important to move slowly when driving past areas that are being chip sealed or painted. Driving slower not only helps keep newly treated road surfaces in good shape, but it also keeps oil or paint from damaging cars.

The county has planned big projects for this week, but there will also be continuous modest repairs and upkeep in other areas. Depending on the weather, the availability of equipment, or other unexpected problems, all work is subject to change. If you can’t see the crews in a certain place, the work may have been finished early or moved to another time.
