Klamath County Public Works Department announces upcoming road and lane closures

Klamath Falls, Oregon – The Klamath County Public Works Department has announced several road and lane closures due to ongoing maintenance and construction efforts. Residents and travelers are advised to exercise caution in these areas and to heed directions from flaggers for safety. If possible, using alternate routes is recommended to avoid the work zones.

Scheduled Closures and Work Zones

The intersection of Harlan Drive and Madison Street will experience partial closures with one lane open and flaggers present from April 22nd to April 26th. Motorists should prepare for potential delays and follow flagger instructions when passing through the area.

Patterson Street will be closed between Eberlein Avenue and Harvey Drive from April 22nd to April 24th, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. A detour route will be available to help manage traffic flow and minimize disruptions during these times.

Laverne Avenue, near Stearns Elementary School, will have daily lane closures starting from April 22nd until August 16th. These closures are part of a longer-term project that will impact traffic patterns significantly, so drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly.

Additionally, on April 22nd, there will be culvert replacement work on Loosley Road. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers, and drivers should expect short delays ranging from 0 to 20 minutes.

Traffic Control and Public Guidance

Traffic control measures, including flagging stations, will be strategically placed at the ends of each work zone. The primary goal is to minimize delays for the motoring public, ensuring that disruptions are kept to a reasonable level. However, adjustments to the work schedules may occur due to weather conditions, equipment issues, or other unforeseen factors.

Klamath County Public Works and the Board of County Commissioners request the public’s patience and cooperation during this repair season. Improvements to local roads and bridges are essential for maintaining safety and infrastructure integrity.
