Klamath Falls, Oregon – The City of Klamath Falls, in partnership with the Klamath Falls Downtown Association, has officially opened applications for its downtown Seasonal Pedlet/Parklet Program. This initiative invites businesses within the downtown corridor to enhance their outdoor dining and pedestrian experiences through the creative use of urban space.
Introduced in 2021, pedlets allow businesses to extend their dining areas onto sidewalks. These temporary structures ensure that pedestrians have a safe route, utilizing one to two parallel parking spaces and maintaining level access with the sidewalk, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Parklets offer a slightly different approach by situating the dining area directly in the parallel parking space, keeping the sidewalk completely unobstructed for pedestrian use.

This year, the city has constructed two pedlets in cooperation with Healthy Klamath and the Klamath Falls Downtown Association, which are available for application by local businesses. Businesses interested in joining the program, whether by applying for one of the city’s pedlets or by constructing their own, are encouraged to submit detailed applications. Due to the anticipated high demand and limited availability of city-fabricated pedlets, applicants are advised to provide comprehensive information to support their requests.
