Klamath County, Oregon – The Klamath County School District is honoring one of its best bus drivers for the critical job they do every day to keep kids safe and on schedule. District executives note that this award is part of an ongoing effort to emphasize how dedicated and caring their transportation crew is. This group is the first and last point of contact for many students each school day.
The district also continues to invite new drivers to join its team. KCSD administrators want everyone to know that being a school bus driver is more than just a job; it’s a chance to help kids across the county. Drivers are often credited with creating positive daily routines and helping students start and end their days with a friendly face and a dependable ride.
KCSD pays for training to help new drivers meet all the licensing and safety requirements. The job pays $26.62 an hour to start, which is an appropriate rate, and it comes with a full benefits package that includes health, vision, and dental care.
