Klamath Falls, Oregon – Klamath Falls drivers will see the city’s street work before many of them finish their first cup of coffee next week.
A four-day push by asphalt crews, early-morning crosswalk painting, and citywide sign and sweeping work will bring small but noticeable changes across Klamath Falls from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, weather permitting.

The work is not one large project in one place. It is the kind of scattered, practical maintenance that keeps a city moving: one closed block, several utility cuts, fresh crosswalks in neighborhoods, and crews fixing what needs attention as they find it.
The most direct traffic impact is scheduled for Monday, July 6, and Tuesday, July 7, when crews prepare and pave the 2100 block of Applegate Road. That section will be closed while the work is underway. Asphalt crews are scheduled to work from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, if weather allows.

After the Applegate Road work, the city’s asphalt crew is expected to move to smaller repair sites. On Wednesday, July 8, crews plan to pave utility cuts at Old Fort Road and Laguna, the alley behind 521 North 5th, and 323 Upham. On Thursday, July 9, paving is scheduled at 911 Ponderosa, 1133 Hanks, 2606 California, 2334 California, and 226 Coli.
The week’s work also includes a separate paint crew schedule, with crews starting before sunrise. From Tuesday, July 7, through Thursday, July 9, paint crews are scheduled from 3 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to work on crosswalks in Americana, Gatewood, Ferndale, North Hills, and Stewart Lennox. On Friday, July 10, crosswalk painting is planned in Lakeport and Harbor Isles.

The timing matters. Crosswalk painting begins at 3 a.m., likely before peak traffic, while asphalt and sweeping crews are set for daytime hours. Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians should still expect short delays, closed work areas, and crews in the street during the listed hours.
Signs and sweeping crews are also scheduled from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week, with citywide work planned as needed. That includes fixing signs and sweeping streets across Klamath Falls.
More information about the city’s street operations is available through the Klamath Falls Streets Division and Public Works Department.
