Klamath Falls, Oregon – As the week of May 26 gets closer, Klamath Falls municipal workers are getting ready for plenty of street maintenance that will affect several important parts of the city. The city stated that residents and drivers should expect a noticeable increase of maintenance work starting immediately after Memorial Day.
From Tuesday, May 27, to Thursday, May 29, the city’s asphalt crews will start work at 5 a.m. and work until 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, crews will work on grinding and paving Main Street between 8th and 9th streets. To keep vehicles safe, traffic control measures will be in place.
Grinding and paving will proceed to Main Street between 7th and 8th on Wednesday, only one block south. On Thursday, the team will dig out and pave different utility cuts that are spread out across the industrial sector and the downtown corridor. This will keep those essential arteries in great shape.
Meanwhile, the paint crews will start even earlier, going out at 3 a.m. and working until 1:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday, May 30. Their main goal will be to clean up the curbs, crosswalks, and painted legends along 6th Street, which spans from Adams to Austin. The goal of these changes is to make the area safer and easier to see for both cars and pedestrians.
The city’s signs and sweeping teams also have a full plate. During the same days, from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., they will be out fixing signs and cleaning streets throughout Klamath Falls as needed. Their goal is to maintain the roads clear and safe for everyone.

Officials say that all of this effort depends on the weather. City leaders are reminding residents and motorists to be alert and cautious in any active work zones. This is to help keep both workers and the public safe while the city finishes this round of street renovations.
