Klamath Fallas, Oregon – The Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) detained Aaron Ronald Morgan, a 44-year-old resident of Klamath Falls, yesterday, February 7, for his involvement in the local fentanyl distribution since 2023. This arrest follows a series of events dating back to November 2023, when investigators first identified Morgan as a key figure in the local drug trade.
BINET’s investigation into Morgan began in earnest on November 17, 2023, upon receiving information about his plans to transport a significant quantity of fentanyl into Klamath Falls for sale. Upon his arrival in the city, BINET investigators seized approximately eleven ounces of fentanyl and took Morgan into custody. He faced initial charges for the unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance—specifically, fentanyl—but was later released from the Klamath County Jail after posting bail on December 17, 2024.

Continued Criminal Activities and Subsequent Arrest
Despite his initial arrest, BINET learned in January 2024 that Morgan was still actively selling fentanyl in Klamath Falls. Acting on intelligence that Morgan intended to bring more fentanyl into the city, investigators once again apprehended him on February 7, 2024. This time, Morgan was found with ¾ pound (345.9 grams) of fentanyl. The subsequent charges against him include unlawful possession, delivery, and manufacture of a controlled substance, along with reckless driving, endangering, two counts of felony attempt to elude, tampering with evidence, and contempt of court.
Collaborative Efforts Among Law Enforcement Agencies
The successful operations against Morgan were the result of collaborative efforts among several law enforcement agencies, including the Oregon State Police Patrol Division, the Klamath Falls Police Patrol Division, and the Klamath County Sheriff’s Department. Through an intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach with the assistance of prosecutors, BINET, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force, plays a crucial role in identifying, disrupting, and dismantling drug trafficking operations. The task force comprises members from the Oregon State Police, the Klamath Falls Police Department, the Oregon National Guard Counter Drug Program, and the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office.
