KCFD1 spotlights teamwork and excellence at annual recognition event

Klamath Falls, Oregon – The spirit of service and teamwork took center stage as Klamath County Fire District 1 gathered for its Annual Awards Dinner, an event dedicated to honoring the men and women who consistently go beyond the call of duty. The evening highlighted the dedication, skill and professionalism that define the district’s work throughout the year.

Each year, employees are nominated by their peers for demonstrating the highest standards of service. The awards recognize individuals who stand out for their leadership, commitment and steady excellence, those who not only meet expectations, but regularly exceed them. This year’s honorees were selected for embodying the core values of the district and for their unwavering service to the community.

Firefighter Jade Ames was named Firefighter of the Year, a recognition reserved for an individual who reflects outstanding performance and dedication in the field. The EMS Recognition Award was presented to Firefighter Dean Limb for notable contributions and commitment to emergency medical services.

Leadership awards were also a central part of the evening. Captain Kyle Schultz received the Warren Award, while Captain Cole Van Essen was honored with the Chiefs Award. Both distinctions acknowledge strong leadership, professionalism and the ability to guide teams through demanding and often unpredictable situations. Firefighter Kyle Brink was presented with the Special Merit Award, recognizing exceptional effort and contributions that made a meaningful impact within the district.
