Klamath Union High School invites families to welcome incoming freshmen during special family night on March 18

Klamath Falls, Oregon – A new chapter is about to begin for dozens of local students, and Klamath Union High School is opening its doors to help families take that first step together. This week, the school will host a special evening designed to welcome incoming freshmen and introduce them to the opportunities waiting ahead.

Families of Ponderosa Middle School eighth graders are invited to attend the Incoming 9th Grade Family Night, an event created to guide students as they transition from Bobcats to the next stage of their academic journey as Pelicans.

The gathering offers a chance for students and their families to step inside the halls of KU and begin imagining what the next four years could look like.

Throughout the evening, visitors will be able to meet teachers, connect with student leaders, and learn about the many programs that shape student life at the school. From athletics and clubs to academic pathways and Career and Technical Education programs, the event is meant to highlight the wide range of experiences available to incoming students.

School representatives say the goal is simple: help new students discover where they belong. Whether a student is interested in sports, hands-on technical programs, or academic pursuits, the evening provides an opportunity to ask questions, gather information, and begin building connections within the school community.

The event will take place Wednesday, March 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Klamath Union High School. Families may enter through the school’s main entrance or through the doors located near the bell.
