Klamath Falls, Oregon – Klamath Falls streets will begin stirring well before most alarm clocks next week. Crews are scheduled to arrive as early as 3 a.m., tackling pavement damage, repainting traffic markings and handling routine maintenance across the city.
The work will shift from neighborhood crack sealing to full road closures and controlled construction zones between July 20 and July 24. Weather could change the schedule, but drivers should prepare for temporary delays and use extra caution around workers and equipment.
The city’s asphalt crew will operate from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Work begins Monday, July 20, with crack sealing in the Ferndale area. The process is used to address cracks in the pavement before they expand and create larger repair needs.
A more disruptive project is planned for Tuesday, July 21. Crews will dig out pavement near 1975 Painter Street, requiring Painter Street to be closed at Pacific Terrace. Motorists who normally travel through that intersection should plan an alternate route while the work is underway.
On Wednesday, July 22, attention will move to Wall Street and Esplanade Avenue. Workers will grind out a section of pavement, and traffic control measures will be in place to guide vehicles through or around the construction area.

Thursday’s asphalt schedule includes two separate locations. Crews will dig out a section in the 800 block of Homedale Road and repave a previously cut area at 2209 Madison Street.
Road-painting crews will work an earlier shift, operating from 3 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. On Tuesday, they are scheduled to paint roadway legends along Shasta Way and Washburn Way, Center Street and Klamath Avenue, and at 12th and Main streets.
From Wednesday through Friday, the paint crew will mark Lakeshore and paint crosswalks and roadway legends on Avalon Street and Eberlein Avenue. The early start is expected to allow much of the work to take place before daytime traffic reaches its busiest periods.

Signs and sweeping crews will also be active from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. throughout the week. Their work will include repairing signs and sweeping streets citywide as needed through July 24.
All listed projects are weather permitting, and drivers should watch for closures, workers, equipment and temporary traffic controls as the city moves through another busy week of street maintenance.
