Drivers urged to slow down and expect delays during intensive road maintenance week in Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Oregon – Beginning Monday, May 12, 2025, road crews in Klamath Falls are preparing for a hectic week of street repair. As crews work on asphalt milling, pavement resurfacing, curb painting, and citywide cleaning, drivers and bikers may expect sporadic delays. Weather conditions govern all activities, hence if rain or strong winds come in, timetables may change.

From 5 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, early risers will see the asphalt crews at work. Workers on Tuesday, May 13, will grind away the current bike lane pavement along Oregon Avenue, using traffic control methods to steer cyclists and cars safely past the work area.

Crews will concentrate on Main Street over the next two days—first between Eighth and Ninth streets and then between Seventh and Eighth streets—milling out worn areas before putting new asphalt. Every day will include lane restrictions and flaggers guiding cars through congested corridors.

Shifting focus back to Main Street on Thursday, May 15, crews will update edge lines between Spring Street and Crater Lake Parkway as well as crosswalk markings and legends. Finishing the week, Friday’s work will focus on Eldorado Avenue—sprucing up crosswalks and pavement legends from Esplanade to Daggett.
