Klamath Falls, Oregon – Klamath County has introduced a new Economic Development Grant Program aimed at stimulating local economic growth by supporting businesses within the county. This initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to regional businesses that are either starting up or planning to expand in Klamath County.
Supporting Local Business Growth
The newly established grant program targets projects that demonstrate the potential to create and retain jobs, as well as enhance the ability of businesses to develop and expand. The primary goal is to bring substantial economic growth to the area. Eligible projects are expected to clearly identify their target markets and outline specific strategies for engaging these markets effectively.
Funding for this program is sourced from the Oregon State Lottery Fund, ensuring that the grants are backed by a stable and reliable financial stream. This financial support underscores the county’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to business growth and economic development.

The grant application process is overseen by an eight-member advisory panel appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. This panel is tasked with reviewing applications and making recommendations based on the potential impact and viability of the proposed projects. The recommendations can include approval, denial, or adjustments to the funding levels. Ultimately, the Klamath County Board of Commissioners will make the final decisions regarding the allocation of funds.
Application Details and Deadlines
Businesses interested in applying for the grant can access the application online starting June 14, 2024. The application window will remain open until 5:00 pm on July 15, 2024. To aid applicants in understanding the requirements and maximizing their chances of success, a mandatory grant orientation meeting will be held on June 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM in room 219 of the Klamath County Government Center. It is important to note that organizations that have received a Klamath County Tourism Grant or Economic Development Grant within the last 18 months are not required to attend this orientation.
