Salem, Oregon – The Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is reaching out to residents throughout the state inviting them to attend the second annual town hall meeting on February 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This event offers an excellent opportunity for members of the community to offer their opinions and recommendations on Oregon’s emergency response plans.

Participants in the virtual conference will go over OEM’s 2023–2025 Strategic Plan, which details the agency’s priorities and goals in emergency response, as well as the OEM Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) plan. The IDEA plan is crucial in ensuring that OEM’s emergency management practices are equitable and inclusive, addressing the specific needs of all Oregon communities.
“This is an invaluable opportunity for Oregonians interested in the safety and resilience of Oregon to make their voices heard,” OEM Director Erin McMahon, said. “Whether or not you have experience in emergency management, we welcome your perspectives to help shape our strategies for an inclusive, effective and community-centered emergency management.”
